We need exceptional, innovative finance professionals to playtheir part in leading the Council into the next phase of the Borough’s transformation.

As a member of the Finance Team, you will play a key part in delivering the financial strategy of the Council to ensure long term financial sustainability. Being part of the team helping to develop the Council’s strategic financial framework, linking theWirral Plan, the medium-term financial plan and service plans together to deliver a financially viable model of service delivery for the Council.

**Your new role**

As Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for working closely with Heads of service and operational leaders to provide support with financial decision making.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, your role will include:

- Budget setting and forecasting for allocated service areas
- Work closely with non-finance managers to help them interpret and understand financial data.
- Support decision making through financial analysis of data
- Ensure data is accurate and support month endmanagement accounts preparation

**What you will need to Succeed**

We are looking for a qualified or part qualified accountant who has significant experience in a finance role.

You should have a demonstrable ability to communicate complex financial information to people from a non-finance background.Additionally, you should have experience of using financial information to influence decision making.

Experience of grant compiling grant returns is desirable.

Your personal skills should include a proactive approach and willingness to build effective relationships with customers, other departmental teams and key stakeholders across the organisation.
