**The Role**:
This position is an individual contributor role as an Area Inspector in UK Upstream SOV. Shell UK limited is a UKAS Accredited Inspection Body (IB0060).

The Area Inspector is responsible for the Pressure System Integrity of one or more facilities across the Onshore and Offshore Operated Facilities. This position is focused on supporting the operations and maintenance of the facility at our **St Fergus Gas Plant** to ensure safe production of oil and gas and the successful applicant will be based at **St Fergus, North East of Scotland**.

The Maintenance and Inspection Team’s role in delivering the Shell UK strategy is to continue to demonstrate “our assets our safe, we know it and can show it” by contributing to reducing emissions and flaring, achieving sustained steady stable production and delivering asset integrity by getting it right first time. Critical to streamlining and reducing rework is to embrace innovative digitalisation solutions, replicating simplification and driving consistency and positively improving reliability, availability, increasing plant safety and the productivity of the people.

**Where you fit in**

Shell UK strategy of pooled engineering creates time within the team to trial and implement new innovative game changing solutions as key differentiators to help Shell UK reach their Net Carbon Footprint ambitions. This will include provision of guidance on technology development and deployment.
- The role as the Area Inspector UK Upstream **St Fergus** is part of the Maintenance and Inspection Team.
- Working with the Facility Manager and Engineering Lead to deliver Inspection support and compliance to the Asset Management System, utilising IMS-PEI /PLSS as the primary tools
- Leading multi-discipline Inspection Expert Groups to deliver optimised S-RBI for all Pressure System components
- Support Facility eMOCs with Inspection discipline expertise
- Support the Inspection related LOD1/2 program and UKAS audit programme
- Maintain a close working relationship link to TAO for all TAO supported activities
- Drive replication and implementation of digitalization solutions

**What’s the role?**

Key responsibilities include:

- Support the UK Upstream business with direction and guidance on Pressure System Inspection and assurance
- Manage the Inspection process for one or more facilities in line with the requirements of the IB and Asset Management System, including accountability for the data management and quality in IMS-PEI
- Collaborate with the Facility management team(s) to ensure pressure systems integrity for the facility is maintained and demonstrable at all times
- Accountable for the quality and completeness of the facilities deliverables from TAO
- Act as TA3/TA2 Inspection for the facility
- Work with Inspection Contract Management Team to ensure maximum delivery/efficiency from Inspection contracts

**HSSE**
- Visibly demonstrate Safety Leadership and set clear expectations for Inspection related activities
- Support the facilities in developing and delivering Inspection related parts of the HSSE plans (including Green House Gas Management)
- Support the UK Upstream facilities with corrosion threat related failure investigations
- Provide Inspection support for COMAH/SCR revisions and HSEx engagements

**Leadership**
- Role model the HSSE behaviors and the Leadership Framework with a Learner’s mindset focus in the Maintenance and Inspection Team with a strong personal commitment and visible leadership in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
- Support standardisation and simplification in the Maintenance and Inspection Team and the enablers required for the Inspection discipline to draw maximum benefits
- Lead facility HSEx Inspection discipline interfaces

**Stakeholder Management**
- Inspection professional supporting the facility external engagements (Regulator, Stakeholders)
- Technical support to Inspection discipline contracts
- Maximise the benefit of Inspection TAO support through personal engagement and accountability with TAO organisation

**Technical Assurance**
- Responsible for ensuring the facility Certificate of Inspection Compliance (COIC) are in date and where required concerns are raised to the Facility Manager, HOI and the TA1 Inspection in a timely manner
- Support Facility eMOC’s with Inspection Discipline Engineering expertise
- Support facilities through LOD1/2 audits

**What we need from you?**
- Technical/Engineering Degree in a discipline related to Pressure Equipment Integrity, or equivalent with substantial experience in Inspection and Integrity Management
- Extensive experience in Materials, Corrosion and Inspection role related to plant and equipment
