Scunthorpe, United Kingdom PLUS Skills Development Ltd Full time

**About us**

**Skills Centre Plus** offer high quality SEND provision for young people age 16-25 with an EHCP in a small, calm and nurturing environment. Each learner is assessed to determine their learning goals and a bespoke plan is put in place. This offers the opportunity to engage in learning by building on successes in areas that interest them and in which they can achieve and grow in confidence. This takes place in learning spaces, workshops and salon in our three centres including one in the 300 acre grounds of Normanby Park.

Young people are mentored 1:1 or in very small groups. The provision is focussed on preparing learners for work through a mix of academic and vocational qualifications including Functional skills, Employability, Occupational studies, Motor Vehicle, Engineering, Construction and Hair & Beauty.

Learners have PSHE classes with our Well-being Coaches and we also deliver life skills where needed to empower our learners to overcome difficulties and become independent.

Learners also work with our Progression Coach to identify job opportunities, meet employers, access work placements and with the support they need, the skills they have learnt and with the confidence that they will succeed, they transition to employment and or further education.

The applicant will be working with young people (16+) who have an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP). The learners we work with can have complex needs including SEMH, ASD, ADHD and potentially having additional learning difficulties and/or disabilities. You will have the skills to teach/deliver to this group of young people. Our focus is to help our post-16 students develop the confidence and skills to gain employment. Having Assessor/Verifier awards would be an advantage alongside a teaching qualification.
