We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Therapy Technical Instructor to join the Therapies Directorate at the University Hospital of North Midlands. This post will be working within the palliative care team covering oncology conditions, long term life limiting conditions and palliative rehabilitation.

This post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital working within the medical and surgical teams. The post will involve working alongside a therapies team but managing an independent caseload providing assessment, delivering rehabilitative care and involvement in early discharge planning and onward referral throughout our patients rehabilitative pathway.

The band 4 post is clinical but also have a leadership role to support and develop the band 3 therapy technicians as well as our apprenticeship staff. Training is provided to help support with these developments.

Therapy Services work within a 7 day shift system therefore the post holder will be required to work as part of the weekend, late shift and bank holiday rotas.

The Therapies Department comprises of two multidisciplinary based teams, the Medical & Surgical Team and the Network Services Team, incorporating both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. These teams form part of the Trust Medical, Surgical and Network Services Divisions. Each team is led by a Divisional Therapist, Mrs Noeleen Hellis leads the Network Services Therapy Team, Mrs Jane Teasdale leads the Medical & Surgical Therapy Team & Mrs Clare Johnson for the County Hospital.

Administration, clerical and secretarial support is provided to both sites and teams by an A&C team. All Staff must be courteous to patients, their carer’s, the general public, other staff and contacts external to the Trust at all times.
