The Darlington Economic Campus is a pioneering new cross-government hub which will bring people together across departments and public organisations to play an active role in the most important issues of the day.
**About the Role**
This is a high-profile role at the centre of the government’s agenda to modernise and reform the Civil Service. You will help shape the discussion of the UK government’s financial leaders and support coordination of work across departments for the benefit oftaxpayers and citizens.
As the lead person responsible for the effective running of the Government Finance Function’s central governance boards, you will:
- Regularly meet the chair people and support them to set agendas which make most effective use of time for our senior leadership;
- Proactively arrange boards in a co-ordinated way, making sure decisions flow through the appropriate boards efficiently; and ensure alignment of messaging to boards;
- Commission papers and presenters; supporting presenters to navigate GFF governance and make best use of board time; identify links between items and make presenters aware of those connections so that items brought to boards are more joined up.
- Ensure board decisions are actioned; tracking delivery of actions and make sure records of board meetings are maintained;
- Keep the entire finance community up to date on board discussions through blogs our OneFinance platform;
- Regularly consider the effectiveness of GFF boards and deliver continuous improvement; Ensure each group has a terms of reference and update them as required;
- Engage with GFF team leaders, business managers and executive assistants to ensure joined-up delivery;
- Coordinate with wider Treasury and Cabinet Office boards including the Planning, Risk and Performance Board, and the Shared Services Design Authority.
