**The company**

You will be working for an extremely successful and well-established manufacturer which is dedicated to producing high quality, authentic products.

They are dedicated to supplying the retail, wholesale, and foodservice sectors with a continuously evolving range to meet customer needs.

**About the Head of Technical job**

You will be responsible for the control and development of technical standards and procedures within the facility. This includes the agreement of the process and recipes of all manufactured products. The role includes the setting of hygiene and quality control standards, in addition, to input into new product development and direct interface with customers.

**Key tasks**
- To ensure compliance with all company procedures and to ensure total compliance with current legislation.
- Ensuring the smooth running of all technical functions to ensure that all food leaving both factories comply with all current legislation in respect of wholesome, hygienic foods being produced and any other agreed technical requirements.
- To liaise with the technical departments of customers and other customer departments.
- To ensure that both factories are kept to the standard required to achieve third-party accreditation governed by BRC Global Standards for Food Safety - CMI, Soil Association and our customers.
- Investigating and completing customer and supplier complaints.
- Provide support with technical troubleshooting, providing technical expertise and insight to resolve the problem with mínimal disruption to the business.

**About You**
- Proven experience in applicable food industry roles - e.g. QA / Technical Manager.
- Ideally gained experience in a 'high risk’, chilled food manufacturing environment.
- Customer-facing experience with a UK grocery retailer essential.
- Knowledge of BRC / retailer Quality Management Systems / Codes of Practice essential.
- Experience gained in a continuous improvement / lean manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Experience in managing and coaching teams.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.

The Head of Technical job is based in West London and is paying £65,000 - £70,000 according to your experience.

The package includes 20 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays with an enhanced pension (8% employer, 3% employee.)

The working hours are Monday - Friday.
