Ground Worker

Utilities groundwork team needed for long term project works.

Professional quality and safety standards for excavation and re instatement on customer properties.

Duties
- Perform various manual labour tasks as assigned by the project coordinators and team supervisors
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of underground utility services to improve network reliability
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact materials pre surface finish of modular materials.
- Operate hand tools and power equipment such as jackhammers, shovels, and compactors and saws
- Assist with the site setup and cleanup of work areas, on customer properties, with site safety paramount
- Follow safety guidelines and preferred techniques to maintain a organized work environment at all times

Experience
- Previous experience in utilities or construction or a related field is preferred
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and portable equipment
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks for extended periods of time
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills and adapt new processes
- Ability to work well in a multiple team environment to distribute resources for project needs

Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the company and the progression of the individuals skills

Daily communication of project status shared over web based project software, all training can be provided

Overtime is occasionally required to keep the project on schedule.

Company vehicle including fuel card and specialist tools/equipment will be provided.

**Salary**: £14.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

- Holidays
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Construction: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- CSCS (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Merthyr Tydfil (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Merthyr Tydfil: Relocate before starting work (required)
