SLC has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Procurement Officer to join our Busy Commercial Department on a permanent basis, based at our Glasgow city centre offices.

The role of the Procurement Officer is to develop and implement tender and contract management plans for an allocated commodity area of expenditure which is aligned with, and supports the delivery of, SLC operational and strategic requirements for third-party expenditure. The role will also have responsibility for the management of contracts within the allocated commodity area throughout the contract life cycle. The role will engage with stakeholders across the organisation to create and execute tender plans which meet stakeholder requirements, align with any applicable category strategy developed by the Category Manager, are compliant with legislation/governance requirements, and deliver optimum value for money for the UK taxpayers in a collaborative and timely manner.

The Procurement Officer will also undertake formal Annual and/or Quarterly Supplier Business Reviews (with support from a Commercial Manager and/or Commercial Specialist) with key suppliers in their assigned commodity areas to ensure supplier performance against agreed deliverables/targets is monitored, performance improvement plans are implemented where required and that SLC is maximising collaborative working and leverage with third-parties.

**SLC offer a Blend working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.**

**Person specification**:

- Experience of procurement and contract delivery within a large/complex organisation preferably within a Public Sector environment,
- Experience of contract management including developing forward contract plans along with experience of supplier relationship management and can identify the risks associated,
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills as well as mentoring and coaching skills,
- Some knowledge of tender and contract management processes and techniques as well as experience in interpreting contractual arrangements,
- Ability to deliver to strict deadlines and targets whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail,
- Ability to work well within a matrix-style organisation and team environment,
- MCIPS accreditation or equivalent (or be willing to work towards this)
