Laser Setter

I am currently working with a sub-contract sheet metalworking business based in Rugby. Due to an internal promotion, they now have a requirement for a Laser Setter/Operator to join their existing team on the shop floor, working a permanent night shift.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Laser Setter/Operator will be using Trumpf lasers; however, if you have knowledge or experience of other laser machines, cross-training can be given.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate laser cutting machines to fabricate sheet metal parts according to engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Set up and adjust machine settings to ensure proper cutting and quality control
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as necessary to maintain production efficiency
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Perform basic maintenance on machines, such as cleaning and lubricating
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area

**Experience**:

- Previous experience operating laser cutting machines or similar equipment preferred
- Knowledge of tooling and mechanical processes
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication techniques
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Experience with welding or using hand tools is a plus
- Ability to assemble finished parts as needed

In return the Laser Setter/Operator can expect to receive a competitive salary, 33 days flexible holiday entitlement and free onsite parking. The working hours for this role will be 21:00 - 07:00 Monday to Thursday, however, a degree of flexibility will be expected if there is the requirement to cover other shifts.
