Are you a Nursery Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity to work within an integrated service in Islington, supporting families and their children aged between 0-5 years through the delivery of services in children centres, homes, clinics and green spaces?
Bright Start Health Visiting are key partners delivering the Early Childhood offer and we have a vacancy for a Family Health Advisor (Nursery Nurse) with an NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/CACHE Level 3 Diploma or equivalent.
You will be working as a member of the health visiting team and alongside both health and early years staff. Your role is to support the health visitor mandated contacts with a particular focus on the 1- 4 year old cohort, delivering agreed interventions and supporting engagement in a wealth of activities on offer including Family Kitchen, stay and plays, Forest school and much more.
We are also delivering the Start for life programme where you will be part of an exciting workforce that will be offering structured programmes e.g. Wellcomm tool to support children during the Health Reviews.
You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme in a Bright Start Locality carrying out evidence-based child and family health assessments and develop child/family health plans in partnership with families and other key partners.
You would be expected to demonstrate good communication skills with colleagues and partners as well as families and children. Good computer skills are essential for the role, and you will be expected to work using the local electronic patient record system.
There are lots of opportunities to participate in activities and training such as Forest School; Family Kitchen; antenatal Solihull programme as well as facilitating groups such as the well-established new parents group and starting solid food group. All of this work is managed within a framework which explains the training and supervision on offer starting with the induction programme and a six month probation which applies to all staff at Whittington.
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
Please see the Job Description and the Persons Specification for further details about the job role. If you are unable to access the PDF, the details of the job description can also be found in the 'Detailed Job Description and Main responsibilities' section.
