Protocol is recruiting for a SEN Lecturer on an ongoing temporary basis.

This is a full-time role offering £20 per hour plus statutory holiday pay, based in Sunderland.

**About the role**

You will be teaching within Inclusive/Foundation Learning, on the Study Programmes and/or Supported Employment programme. The post holder will strive to improve lives through education, training, skills and development, fostering social and economic success, in line with the College’s overall mission.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To improve lives through education, training, skills and development and fostering social and economic success in line with the College’s overall mission.
- Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of learners.
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment to assess students’ progress and support needs.
- Give students regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking, and encourage students to respond to the feedback, reflect on progress, their emerging needs and to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.
- Use relevant data to monitor progress, set targets and plan subsequent lessons. Set homework and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding students have acquired as appropriate.
- To take an active part in the recruitment, interviewing, selection and mentoring of students including marketing, selection, communications and coordination with partners and the college.
- Train students in the interview process for employment sites and competitive positions.

**The person & qualifications**
- A Level 4 teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE) or the willingness to achieve one in line with statutory requirements
- A relevant first degree or a professional qualification in working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- Experience of teaching with Inclusive Learning, with positive outcomes for students with **Special Educational Needs and Disabilities**:

- Demonstrable and successful experience of teaching at a variety of levels and in various settings including employment training
