Casual contract (approx 15 hrs per week - flexible to suit)
Scale point 2 (Grade 2) £11.59 per hour
Sir John Nelthorpe School is a successful and popular 11-19 comprehensive school with a rapidly growing roll (currently 790 pupils).It has a caring ethos and long tradition of academic achievement for all.
We are seeking to appoint Exam Invigilators to invigilate internal and external examinations at the School. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Sir John Nelthorpe School and provide a crucial and invaluable service to the whole school community. Our team of invigilators assist in the co-ordination and invigilation of pupils and students undertaking their examinations and uphold the integrity of the external examination / assessment process. There will be other associated activities that will be undertaken as part of your role which will be directed by the Exams Officer.
The role of the invigilator involves:
Assisting with the preparation of the examination room, ensuring awarding body requirements are met
Adhering to the JCQ instructions for conducting examinations
Dealing with student queries in a diligent and appropriate manner under the guidance of the examinations officer
Dealing with emergencies or irregularities effectively including disruption, recording and reporting where appropriate
Assist with the collection of scripts and examination stationery at the end of the exam.

Ensuring the maintenance of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Reliable, flexible and readily available during main exam periods
Have effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills
Work well as part of a team
Are able to give instructions and manage situations involving different groups of people
