- We are currently recruiting for an HR Officer to join a well established construction company with sites across Europe. This role is based in their Wallsend premises and is an office based role.
- This is a 3 month temporary to permanent role working Monday to Friday 39.5 hours per week with flexibility on start and finish times Salary on offer is approx. £27,729 per annum (£13.50 per hour), although there could be flexibility with this dependent on experience.
- As HR Officer, you will report into the HR Manager working as part of a team of 4, supporting employees across the business with HR related queries to include:
- Oversee recruitment and selection processes
- Oversee administrative process flow including sickness absence, holiday requests, and referral to onward services.
- Organise and interface with Occupational Health
- Arrange hearings, investigations, and meetings with respect to HR processes including capability, disciplinary, grievance, performance, redundancy, terminations.
- Implement and manage personnel record system, including hard-copy and electronic.
- Required to support in the development of HR policy and procedures.
- Required to support in the development of HR policy and procedures.
- Support payroll administrator with weekly and monthly payroll queries
- Uphold principles, ethics, and values in relation to the Company people policies, procedures, and practices.
- Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the Company.
- Providing administrative support to the HR team including word processing, photocopying, distribution of information, answering telephones, minute taking at meetings and cover during holiday for HR team etc.

We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience working as HR Officer or similar ideally from a manufacturing, engineering or construction background
- Good MS Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with UK Employment Law
- Good knowledge of HR policies and how to implement them consistently
- Follow administrative procedures and processing
- Ability to find solutions to employee related issues
- Adapts to changing circumstances, accepting new ideas and initiatives for change and adjust reactions according to people or situations.
