As our company grows and matures from a start-up into a scale-up we are entering a really exciting time in our journey and we need a dedicated Hardware Specialist To ensure that our understanding of electronic hardware and firmware is captured, documented and maintained to enable rapid deployment of our product to customer locations. This includes flow meter integrations, bluetooth interfaces and printers, vehicle docking and power solutions.

**Your Career at i6**:
**In Your First Month you’ll**
- Ask lots of questions and begin to explore and really get to know our products, our clients and gain deeper insight into the Aviation industry
- Get to know our physical hardware, what it does and how to optimise, maintain and manage it
- Begin to analyse technology, resource needs, and market demand, with the assistance of the Sales, Deployment, and Support teams, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
- Begin to troubleshoot in-field problems to determine root cause and resolution. This may involve some international travel to customer sites as part of a deployment or support activities
- Complete our onboarding programme and met and get to know other members of various teams and start to feel part of our awesome culture and community

**Within 6 mths you’ll**
- Design and construct a dedicated onsite lab to ensure all flow-metres are available and functional for software development and testing
- Work with manufacturers and documentation to ensure internal understanding of hardware interfaces and units is documented and trained across our development team, support and deployment teams
- Be the go to person for all things hardware related
- Continue to troubleshoot in-field problems to determine root cause and resolution. This may involve some international travel to customer sites as part of a deployment or support activities
- Liaise with Third-party Logistic Partnership to ensure they have the correct Documentation and Training to configure the required i6 hardware for customers..
- Configure and assist with the installation of PLC gateway units (Cloud-Serial Gateway) and liaise with customer IT and PLC integrators to understand and implement new communications protocols for our PLC gateway units as necessary
- Take ownership for the hardware configurations as part of our new Inventory management software
- Monitor market trends and manufacturers to increase hardware compatibility.
- Finish probation and continue to grow and develop as part of your journey here at i6

**Within 1 Year you’ll**
- Be a critical part of i6, ensuring that our electronic hardware and firmware needs are maintained, documented and supported to ensure the product deployment and software development can be completed effectively
- Troubleshoot vehicle installations alongside our deployment team and mobile software integrations alongside our mobile and cloud development team.
- Train and support internal teams and external customers around electronic hardware interfaces and installations.
- Develop solutions for new hardware interfaces that will be needed in the future.

**What you’ll Bring to The Role**:

- A fast learner who uses initiative
- Solid experience of hardware installation and troubleshooting in a vehicle environment.
- Able to create installation processes and procedures
- Able to document electronic hardware designs and solutions
- Able to troubleshoot electronic hardware problems to diagnose and resolve
- Ability to implement embedded firmware upgrades
- Ability to work from documentation of equipment and with manufacturers to understand and configure electronic flow meter registers and related equipment
- Understanding of on-vehicle power supplies
- Experience in electronic hardware and embedded firmware devices
- Knowledge of serial protocols including RS232, RS422, RS485, ModBus, Ethernet/IP(CIP)
- Experience with Bluetooth serial connections
- Knowledge of interfacing with pulse interfaces (2, 3, 4 channel)
- Knowledge of Node.js scripting and cloud connected electronic hardware (sensor gateways)
- Knowledge of computer networking / IoT would be advantageous
- Ability to gather data to troubleshoot and resolve issues
