The Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Adult Neuropsychology Service, Dorset, provides specialist assessments and rehabilitation to individuals with acquired brain injury, neurological and neuro-psychological disorders.

We are advertising two vacancies for permanent, part time Assistant Psychologists; number of hours negotiable.

As an assistant psychologist you will join an integrated multi-disciplinary team which also includes 5 clinical and clinical neuropsychologists offering you training and supervision. The service has an exceptional record of preparing graduate assistant psychologists for onward doctorate level clinical psychology training.

We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive and reliable assistants to support the provision of baseline assessments, neuropsychological rehabilitation for our patients and to assist with service developments, research and clinical audits.

The service operates Dorset-wide in the community and offers in-reach clinical neuropsychology to the complex brain injury and neurological assessment and rehabilitation unit at the University Hospitals Dorset. Therefore, there is an optimal potential to gain a rich portfolio of clinical skills and work experience.

Under the direction of qualified clinical psychologists and Occupational Therapists, you will undertake clinically supervised work including individual contacts (counselling, testing, and triage) and psycho-educational groups.

You will undertake audit and development activities under the guidance of a clinical psychologist. They will be required to undertake CPD and attend personal clinical supervision.

**Under the direction of a clinical psychologist**:
Conduct psychometric and other routine psychological assessments and triage

Implement therapy or care programmes on a clinically supervised basis

Plan, organise and teach psycho-educational interventions or other specific interventions, in group or individual format

Provide advice (within competencies) to clients, carers and professionals.
Liaise with clients, carers and professionals regarding non-complex, sensitive clinical/care information.
