Yard Operative

Marwood Group Ltd are a leading non-mechanical plant hire and sales company with a nationwide depot network, servicing our customers across the whole of the UK.

Due to increased business opportunities, we are seeking to employ an experienced Yard Operative to work as part of a small team based within our Wales (Bridgend) depot.

To be successful, you will need to hold a valid counterbalance licence (FLT), be well organised, self-motivated and be happy to work outdoors all year round in all elements.

Hours: 42.5 p/w - Mon-Fri, 8am-5:30pm.

Starting pay is £10.45, 25 days holiday, allowance days, contributory pension and wellness initiatives.

**JOB TITLE**:
Yard Operative

**REPORTING TO**:
Depot Operations Manager

**MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE**:
To carry out all necessary activities in regards to yard operations as detailed in the Marwood Quality Procedures: MQP33 & MQP40.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Operate a Counterbalance Fork lift
- Responsible for all loading/unloading of plant
- Controlling Stock
- Preparing, maintaining and cleaning equipment, using a pressure washer where required
- Checking that orders are correct before dispatch to a customer
- Ensure plant is stored and stacked correctly and safely
- Ensuring paperwork is completed correctly
- Complete and record the required equipment checks/inspections both periodically and prior to dispatch
- Accurately recording of both inward/outward stock movements on a daily basis
- Inspecting equipment for any damage in accordance with our quality control standards
- Complete accurate stock checks as directed, reporting any discrepancies direct to the Depot Operations Manager
- Observe general yard/workshop discipline, promoting a high standard of behaviour and an adaptable approach to tasks allocated
- Adhere to all Marwood working practises and Health & Safety Legislation to ensure the welfare of all depot staff and visitors.
- Wear and maintain all Marwood issued P.P.E pertaining to the task being completed, notifying the Depot Operations Manager of any defects.
- Work collaboratively with all other business functions to ensure the smooth operation of the yard.
- Maintain clean, tidy and safe working area(s), ensuring all equipment and consumables are stored in the appropriate manner
