If so, West Berkshire Council has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Communities and Wellbeing Service as a Safer Streets Guardian.

Reporting to the Acting Building Communities Together Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our local residents.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Working collaboratively with partner agencies and local communities to address community safety concerns
- Conducting regular patrols and engaging with the public to provide reassurance and support
- Responding to incidents and anti-social behaviour, taking appropriate action as required
- Gathering and recording intelligence to inform crime prevention strategies
- Assisting in the implementation of initiatives and projects aimed at improving community safety.

To excel in this role, you should have:

- A genuine commitment to community safety and the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of individuals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse challenging situations
- Strong problem-solving abilities, coupled with a proactive and solution-focused approach
- The resilience to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- A flexible and adaptable mindset, as the role may involve occasional evening and weekend work.
