**Job summary**:
This Business Support role within our Access for All Project team is an exciting new, fixed term national role which seeks to bring innovation and new forest access opportunities to a wide range of communities. As Business Support you will be responsible for administrative support and all co-ordination for the Project team.

The nation’s forests include a diverse range of safe green spaces for outdoor recreation. Both access need and opportunity are strong with 99% of England’s population residing within a one-hour drive of a Forestry England managed forest. These forests received 360 million visits for recreation in 2021 and achieved 88% good customer satisfaction rating. Our portfolio of sites, such as those in the north-west of England and Thames Gateway, offer safe access to green space in places close to where people live and offer rich opportunities to support the Government’s Levelling Up agenda.

The aim of this project is to deliver innovation and greater access opportunities through an agreed programme of infrastructure improvements within the nation’s forests. Targeting a range of forest locations across England, you will help us to deliver recreation facilities that are inclusive, promote equality, and is reflective of our nation’s diversity.

**Job description**:
The part time role (22 hrs/wk) will involve acting as a business support expert for our project team, contributing to the project and its’ delivery including contract administration; providing support to colleagues carrying out tender processes; delegated responsibility for managing a number of internal procedures; organisation and management of meetings, and wider ad hoc administrative tasks and responsibilities as required.

Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with recreation teams spread across England, you will provide business support in the commissioning and roll-out of built infrastructure improvements across a range of forest locations. You will be working alongside a range of experts in forest-based recreation, helping to ensure their project contributions are delivered on time.

**Key Work Areas**:
Provide the first point of business support for colleagues spread throughout England. Assisting with meetings, travel and supporting in the use of Forestry England corporate systems.

Build and maintain processes to provide the Project Manager with up-to-date project management and financial information as the project is delivered.

Manage project monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that plans are in place for new infrastructure builds including trails, benches, shelters, bridges etc. Collect and collate monitoring and evaluation data and incorporate into the quarterly funders report.

Work with the Project Manager to maintain up-to-date risk registers, delivery plans and spend plans to help achieve maximum value for money across the project.

Support all team members with procurement in line with corporate standards and established processes.

**Person specification**:
**Essential Professional and Technical experience**
- Very competent IT user with experience of MS Office including high level of experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Experience of working in an office environment with a large, dispersed and often remote team.
- Experience of providing administrative and business support for externally funded projects.

**Desirable Professional & Technical experience**
- Experience of using project administration tools and techniques e.g. Microsoft Project
