The Headteacher and Governors of Blaydon West Primary School wish to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational Teaching Assistant.

We are looking for a TA linked to a pupil with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

Salary dependent on qualification.

The role is to support a pupil with an EHCP in the classroom and at playtimes and ideally we would want to appoint a flexible and dedicated professional with classroom experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.

You will be working alongside the class teacher to provide a high standard of support and will need to be able to plan, deliver and monitor work to meet the needs of their EHCP, as well as adapting materials to support the pupil’s learning and development.

The following attributes are desirable:

- A variety of communication skills to respond to the needs of the child.
- Empathy and understanding of children's individual learning abilities
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with children who have ASD
- An understanding of the National Curriculum for KS1 and KS2
- Patience and a good sense of humour
- Flexibility
- Willing to go the extra mile for the children in their care
