Kitchen Assistant

The Chinnor Village Centre is a not-for-profit charity located on the High Street in Chinnor, South Oxfordshire. It offers a place and space for the use of the local community; focused on the provision of care, company, security and friendship. A central meeting point for a variety of activities allowing our community to connect and socialise. At the heart of the community is the Coffee Shop, a venue for all We provide hot and cold meals, tea, coffee and soft drinks to the village community and surrounding parishes. Coffee Shop opening hours are: 9.00-16.00 (Mon-Fri) and 9.30-14.00 (Sat)

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant in order to support the Coffee Shop Manager in the day to day running of the Coffee Shop. You will be 'on call' for work and we will provide as much advance notice as is possible. No experience (although an advantage) is necessary; we would ask you to have a flexible attitude, be a team player and have good people skills.

**Job description**
- To assist in the organisation and the day to day running of the Village Centre Coffee Shop.
- To assist with the organisation of a small team of volunteers, delegate and give direction within the kitchen environment.
- To assist in the organisation of catering for our Room Hire clients, Friendship and Stroke Club members whilst also maintaining services in the Coffee Shop.
- To assist in the accurate maintenance of records and information to ensure the Coffee Shop remains Hygiene and Health & Safety compliant.
- Undertake appropriate developmental training, as required.
- Be capable and consistent with food and cash handling, training will be provided.
- Take responsibility for Open and Close down procedures, on occasion.

Hours: zero hours contact with potential hours over the working week

Pay rate will move to £10.42 per hour from April 2023 (National Minimum Wage)
