Smoke & Rye is an independently owned and operated American inspired restaurant. Leading the way in the Staffordshire food scene with exclusively developed menus and a captivating brand that connects with customers by taking them on a journey almost completely unique to the UK. We believe that behind every experience is an exceptional team of people.

Our bespoke and seasonal menus take inspiration from personal experiences and the best of America encompassing the colourful array of cultural influences from across the States. We use traditional, time honoured American cooking techniques with carefully crafted recipes. We focus on only the highest quality food & drink and work closely with suppliers to provide the best quality ingredients, either local or specially imported all the way from the USA.

**What We're Looking For**

We are currently looking for part time experienced Servers/Bartenders to join our front of house team.

You'll need to have a whole heap of 'Southern Style' friendly hospitality, drive for customer service and pride for service You'll have some prior front of house experience as well as bar training and confidence in the basics of service.

As a member of the front of house team you'll be customer focused. You'll be serving mind-blowing food and drink whilst looking after our customers ensuring that they feel comfortable, at ease and have the best time possible whilst they're with us.

To meet our high customer expectations and 'Southern friendly' style of service, you'll need to be fast paced, efficient, kind, helpful and completely charming.

To deliver the best service you'll need to be a food & drink geek, connoisseur of our unique menus and the story of Smoke & Rye.

You'll need to be able to sell the experience and build connections with our customers, confidently answering their questions by taking a keen interest in all areas of service.

**The Basics**
- Prior bar / front of house experience is essential
- Must be able to multitask and be flexible in order to meet customer needs
- Must be adaptable, dependable and a team player
- Must be able to remain focused and professional in a fast paced and busy environment
- Should be open and willing to learn new skills
- Should have a proactive approach to identify problems and work quickly to find solutions
- Works effectively with others, on all levels, in a positive and professional manner
- Should be able to work well with the team or independently
- Must have an understanding of licensing law and legal requirements such a challenge 25 policy
- Must have an understanding of health department requirements, consistently maintaining a clean working environment and correctly handling stock
- Has excellent communication skills which includes the ability to use clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in interactions with customers, suppliers, colleagues and management
