**Cover Supervisor - SEMH Support**

**Location**: Dagenham, London borough of Barking & Dagenham, London

Full-Time hours: 8.15am - 3.30pm

Monday to Friday

Parking on site

Support students with SEMH or Challenging behaviour experience

This role would suit a HLTA or Cover Supervisor with at least 6 months experience.

**Role Overview**:
We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Cover Supervisor OR HLTA to join our dedicated team. In this crucial role, you will play a key part in providing essential support for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, ensuring they have access to a high-quality education tailored to their unique learning requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and facilitate learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide support and guidance to students at Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting to their individual needs and providing additional assistance as required.
- Foster positive social interactions and promote emotional well-being, self-confidence, and resilience among students.
- Collaborate with the school's multi-disciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and behavior specialists, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Monitor and record student progress, behaviors, and achievements, and contribute to the ongoing refinement of individual support plans.
- Implement behavior management techniques and provide emotional support as required, creating a safe and nurturing space for learning.
- Encourage the development of essential life skills such as independent learning, time management, and communication.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs in a special school or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and familiarity with evidence-based practices for supporting students in this area.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
