A great opportunity has arisen to work with a small, friendly and successful GMP and UKAS accredited contract testing labs supporting healthcare industries in microbiological testing. Our client are looking for a QA Technician with some lab based technicalassistant responsibilities as part of the role to join their talented team. You will work 37.5 hours a week Monday-Friday with flexibility and the potential of overtime depending on the workload.

**Responsibilities** As a rough split, 80% of the work will be QA, with 20% in the lab.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, those covering Health & Safety, ISO 17025 and GMP.
- Conducting training with staff in terms of quality matters, when needed.
- Follow up on updates/changes to publications with regards to GMP.
- Liaising with customers or regulatory representatives.
- Responding to external audit report findings, e.g. plan corrective actions, communicate with regulatory bodies or customers.
- Releasing necessary documentation externally in a controlled manner. Obtaining and maintaining necessary external documentation, when needed.
- Planning and conducting internal audits in line with company procedures.
- Perform microbiological quality control testing following the test procedures set out in the various company Testing Manuals.
- Read and record results of tests.
- Media and diluents preparation.
- Prepare and handle cultures of Bacteria, Mould and Yeast.
- Receive and log in samples for testing.
- Operate all pieces of laboratory equipment including performing calibrations.
- Deal with customers on a first line basis, if required

**About You**:

- Have a relevant scientific degree with some industrial or academic experience in microbiological testing.
- Knowledge of GMP and/or UKAS
- Be a strong team player
- Have good attention to detail
- Due to location, private transport is essential unless you live in the Tideswell area.
