**Safer Business Network**

Safer Business Network implements and operates multiple award-winning Business Crime Reduction Partnerships (BCRPs) across London. These BCRPs work closely with partner agencies including the Met Police, Local Authority, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and security teams.

The main role of these BCRPs is sharing information, delivering training, and helping businesses play their part in reducing the impact of crime.

Safer Business Network is a membership organisation, meaning our members are always our primary focus.

So, whilst having an interest in crime prevention and community safety would be advantageous, and related experience would be even better, an ability to engage with and talk to people is the most important attribute a Business Engagement Officer can possess and what we want above all else.

**We need passionate people with personality, we can teach you the rest.**

The role will also require supporting the Partnership Manager with projects and initiatives and processing data to facilitate information-sharing among members. Therefore, it is vital that you can work independently and to deadlines. Other elements of the role include:
**Business Engagement**
- Regular visits to BCRP members, enquiring about recent incidents and issues
- Follow up visits after an incident
- Training businesses on how to use the intel sharing database/app
- Delivery of invites for BusinessWatch / PubWatch meetings and training sessions
- Assist businesses with enquiries about intel sharing database/app

**Intelligence**
- Intel gathering and analysis of information about offenders and crime patterns
- Collection of CCTV footage and witness statements to be shared with the police and uploaded onto intel sharing database/app
- Set up and training for the chat app to allow real time communications within the business community

**Comms**
- Publication of ‘good news stories’ on Social Media channels
- Posting good news stories on our website
- Producing crime prevention articles for businesses and area updates for businesses
- Engaging with relevant partners’ Social Media accounts to reinforce our links in the community

**Skills**:

- English language proficiency, including the ability to produce original writing, copy editing and proofreading
- Delivering briefings and speaking in front of members at meetings
- Ability to build relationships
- Good organisational and time management skills, including the ability to multitask
- A good team player
- Knowledge of Excel/Google sheets, Word
- Knowledge of all Social Media platforms, InDesign, Eventbrite, Mailchimp is desirable but not essential (training will be available)
- Customer service skills
- Ability to work independently

Due to the sensitive nature of the role, it is a requirement that the successful applicant agrees to Disclosure Barring Service checks to ensure that they have no criminal convictions.

**Salary**: From £27,900.00 per year
