An exciting opportunity has arisen with Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust for a Professional Lead for our well established community based Tissue Viability & Complex Leg Wound Services.

It is a key position within the team, assuming professional leadership of all team members to ensure compliance with professional standards and the achievement of key performance indicators. The role enables the individual to be responsible for ensuring high quality, patient centred, evidence-based care for patients with complex Tissue Viability & Complex Leg Wound needs, and also as an expert resource for the wider community nursing staff. The service is provided to ensure that it is accessible, safe, clinically and cost effective, and supports delivery and maintaining high quality standards of patient care. The post holder will work closely with the Operational Team Manager to ensure the education and development of team members, to achieve a flexible and competent service fit for future requirements in the Trust and in response to national and local initiatives. The post holder will work closely with colleagues to ensure delivery of relevant and up-to date training to staff. The post holder will be a clinically credible practitioner in relation to Tissue Viability/Complex Leg Wound Service embedding a culture of research, personal development and reflection within the team.
- Act as tissue viability clinical expert, informing organisational decision making & promotion of best practice alongside professional leaders across the directorate.
- Contribute to the development of policies & procedures that underpin wound care knowledge & ensure these are disseminated and understood within the team and broadly into the directorates the TVNs support.
- Review and monitor the professional practice standards & care delivery within the team.
- In support of and conjunction with the Team Manager
- lead and manage the teams through operational delivery demands; assuring allocation of recourses and safe provision of workloads.
- manage clinical performance for the team, such as waiting lists, length of stay, capacity and flow within service
- Ensuring governance is embedded, that the quality and standards of care delivered are correct to policy and procedure, professional regulation and clinical evidence.
- In support of the Team Manager, work to deliver the service within budget, being mindful of resource management and seeking efficiencies where identified as part of continuous improvement approaches.
- Alongside the Team Manager review and authorise service orders for equipment and patient products, being mindful of best value resource management.
- Alongside the Team Manager and the Head of Service to work with partners in the Integrated Care System for Gloucestershire to champion excellence and improve care provision across, between and within services.
