**Teaching Assistant - Crawley area, West Sussex - Full-time - 8:30 - 3:45 Monday to Friday, Term Time. £75 - 85 per day.**

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Crawley. Our school caters for primary children aged 2-11 years who have learning difficulties and additional needs. They are proud of being judged outstanding by Ofsted on four successive occasions and continuously strive to maximise the opportunities for each child.

At the school, they have a proactive and supportive Governing Body and Parent/Carer fundraising group. They offer a range of specialist and therapeutic activities, including hydrotherapy and riding, to support their pupils' physical, emotional and social development. The school also prides itself on its links with the broader community through visits and links with other schools.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Supporting pupils in their learning and development
- Providing one-to-one or small group support as directed by the class teacher
- Assisting with the preparation and delivery of lessons
- Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and behaviour
- Supporting pupils with their personal care needs
- Building positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents/guardians
- Encouraging and motivating pupils to reach their full potential
- Participating in training sessions and staff meetings as required

**Requirements**:

- Ideally experience working with (or life experience of) children with special educational needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive and proactive attitude
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
