Precision Machinist

Blueprint Subsea we are continuing to grow, and we are looking to hire a Precision Machinist to work within our production department, based at our manufacturing facility near Haverthwaite in Cumbria. Initially, this role will be for a fixed 6 month contract and will require working nights. If you already have some experience and you have demonstrable practical skills, an enquiring mind and a desire to continue to learn and develop then we would love to hear from you

Blueprint Subsea is an innovative company of designers, engineers and manufacturers of underwater acoustic sensors. We provide international subsea, offshore and defence markets, with a diverse product portfolio of acoustic imaging, positioning and navigation solutions.

Key responsibilities will include.
- Programming, and operation of small precision CNC machines.
- Inspection & Quality control of high value precision machined components
- Post-machining operations, such as assembly and testing
- Following and adhering to detailed drawings/procedures
- Completing repetitive tasks to a consistent quality standard
- Have knowledge or experience in the operation of simple CNC machines
- Have suitable engineering / production qualifications (or equivalent experience)
- Be highly motivated to work within a small team and capable of working independently
- Be able to follow, and adhere to, detailed drawings and procedures
- Have the ability to take the initiative to prioritise and work efficiently and tidily
- Complete tasks to a consistently high standard
- Have desire to contribute to ongoing quality and service improvement
- Be an excellent timekeeper, able to travel to, and work at, Blueprint Subsea premises in Haverthwaite
- Be willing to work shifts, particularly at night.
- Have soldering and assembly experience within the electronics industry.
- Have suitable engineering / production qualifications (ONC/HNC/HND)
- Knowledge and experience from working within a production engineering environment
