DSFS Ltd are looking to recruit into the position of Building Apprentice, you will be based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital with a offsite learning day to be agreed.

As a Building Apprentice, work typically includes, planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, repairing Building fabric such as Doors walls and cosmetic finishers and making improvements to operational requirements.

The successful applicant will be supported through an apprenticeship to allow them to attain the appropriate knowledge, skills and experience to become a fully qualified and competent Joinery trade’s person. The apprenticeship scheme is run in conjunction with an apprenticeship training provider, with additional supplementary specialist education provided to ensure the applicant is supported through a high quality training programme. The apprenticeship will normally take a period of 3 to 4 years dependant on starting qualifications and academic achievement.

The post holder is part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of Building fabrics necessary for the provision of a safe, efficient and compliant service to Chesterfield Royal Hospital and all its sites.

The post holder will report to the building maintenance manager on operational matters who will also act as apprenticeship coordinator and mentor.

College Education

The post holder will work towards achieving a level 3 carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship.
