**Job objectives and responsibilities**

**£30,000 per year, 25 days holiday, company electric car, pension - home based with travel, Heathrow base ideal**

Promote the company QHSE strategy across the business, promoting and embedding the ethos of Live Safe, and ensuring contractual, company, legislative and best practice requirements are met and maintained
- Provide consistent competent advice and guidance to ICE, OSE, OCC and all other internal stakeholders with regards to QHSE policy, legislative requirements, while visiting Escorting Services locations.
- Attend meetings, forums, as a representative of the QHSE Function
- Deputise for the QHSE Manager when required
- Mentor and Line Manage the QHSE Administrator
- Work in accordance of the QHSE Yearplanner
- Work in accordance and directed from the Escorting Services QHSE Strategic Plan
- Provide advice, coaching and support to staff in order to maximise the efficient and effective operation of the contract.
- Complete periodic tours, inspections, audits and assessment for Fire, Fabric, MiSHE, workplace, DSE, Occupational road risk, Food safety and any other QHSE Agendas
- Ensure that all accidents, near misses and other safety events are reported, investigated, evidence obtained and findings shared where lessons can be learnt
- Ensure that they maintain their professional knowledge in order to fulfil their role in a competent manner;

**Main duties**
- Produce accurate reports to demonstrate the QHSE performance of Escorting Services
- Carry out risk assessments and risk mitigation measures across the contract and records any shortcomings in an action place and or MiSHE remedial action raised
- Carry out periodic site visits to vehicle, bases, holding rooms, RSTHF's within the contract to ascertain local compliance levels
- Work in accordance with any QHSE KPI's / SLA's that are in place to support the contract
- Ensure that all investigations assigned, and recommend proposals for corrective or preventive measures so that future reoccurrence can be prevented, if lessons learnt are available these will be shared.
- Maintain effective communication, preparing and disseminating reports and documentation to ensure stakeholders are accurately informed and relevant standards are met.
- Work in accordance with AVA / Eco online the internal audit programme to drive continual improvement and compliance with required standards and business requirements.
- Liaise with the Mitie Insurance community and ensure the management of insurance activity, assist in providing operational interpretations.
- Work in accordance with and promote the Mitie Group QHSE management system and ensuring compliance to the Group umbrella certification for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Periodically review the content of information on MISHE, coach mentor and support MISHE Users,
- Identify where food safety standards are not being maintained in accordance with the Food Safety system
- Have sufficient skills to understand current QHSE processes GAP any weakness to ensure additional assurance can be provided to the contract
- Have the ability to understand legislative requirements and implement these requirements in to the operation across 5 different legislative areas
- Be a focal point for all things QHSE, building trust and respect amongst peers and stakeholders on the guidance and advice you offer
- Assist local and regional management teams on complex QHSE / ER issues.
- To support the wider ES business in regards to supporting the Audit and Compliance team to complete their audit function as required
- Act as a QHSE SME in the event of continuity plans being implemented across the business, build additional systems to protect colleagues and comply with legislation where required
- Any other duties as requested by your line manager to support the QHSE team during daily operations and work towards strategic targets.

**Person Specification**
- NEBOSH General Certificate - IOSH Membership - (TechIOSH Minimum)
- Recognised fire qualification - NEBOSH Fire Certificate / Level 3
- Knowledge of PAS 79
- CIEH Level 3 in Food Safety
- Kelvin Top set accident investigatrion
- IEMA Foundation Certificate
- Proficient and competent in MS Office, MS Power Bi, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
- Desirable - Working knowledge of MiSHE, Eco online, Chemdocs
- Ability to be flexible and be able to travel to locations within the contract regions
- Ability to work under pressure. deliver at pace in a methodical manner
- Ability to build strong working relationships with Internal / external stakeholders;
- Demonstrates a high level of Integrity and the ability to challenge legislative shortcomings with stakeholders
- Tenacious self-starter, with a desire to persist and get the job done
