Packaging Technologist

Due to ongoing growth, Aegg are looking to expand their Procurement team with an experienced packaging technologist.
**What is your Goal - Target**
To ensure all bought in and manufactured goods are to the correct specification, improving, managing, and advising the Aegg supply base on best practice.
**What are you responsible for (Summary)**
To be the first point of call for all technical queries, managing and improving product standards.
**Your key accountabilities are**:
- Managing packaging standards for all bought in and manufactured goods
- Managing product development from first concept to full customer approval
- Manage specification generation and review as necessary
- Manage and support trials
- Monitoring and managing suppliers’ performance to an approved specification
- Set up and manage quarterly meetings with suppliers in line with agreed contracts and agendas
- Liaising with the Aegg Quality Manager so as to maintain supplier food safety standards
- Liaising with the Quality Manager in order to monitor and generate, an improvement plan to raise the supplier score as required
- Involvement, as necessary, in the supplier approval process
- Involvement in the design process for all NPD activities including the monitoring project progress, generation and execution of validation plans
- Responsible and lead for all plastic and glass complaints / enquiries, understanding the root cause and advise on robust solutions
- Attend supplier and customer visits globally as required
- Set out and present monthly trends and innovation
**You should demonstrate the following Skills, Knowledge and Experience**:
- Good MS office skills
- Excellent understanding of written and spoken English
- Excellent attention to detail
- Design experience would be useful (solidworks)
- Knowledge of the manufacturing of packaging glass
- Knowledge of the manufacturing of plastics
- Knowledge of plastic polymers
- Project management skills and MS Project
- Understanding of glass andplastic tooling requirements and standards
**Your key challenges will be**:
- Maintaining and improving manufacturing standards
- Maintaining, recording, and feeding back supplier scoring in line with quality and logistics agreements.
- Managing supplier improvement plans in line with scoring
