**Key Working Relationships**: Clinicians, Divisional Managers, Digital ICT, Health Records, Information Governance, GP surgeries and other providers within the Integrated Care System Risk Assessment: Work on PC for long periods of time. Job Purpose: The primary purpose of this role is to support the Deputy Chief Information Officer to enable the successful delivery of the Trusts Data Quality improvement agenda. This includes developing and facilitating the implementation of policies and procedures which contribute to embedding Data Quality in the organisational culture. The job holder will be responsible for providing advice, training and direction to Operational Managers with regard to improving Data Quality and the development of Data Quality Key Performance Indicators.
The job holder will also be responsible for managing the mitigation of data quality issues through changes to training programmes, process changes and escalations of consistently poor management. The job holder will assist in promoting confidence in Trust data though continued development of the Digital Teams Data Quality Kitemark. Key Duties: To ensure the consistently high performance for the Data Quality Maturity Index (DQMI), which monitors the level of data quality for nationally submitted data. To develop, maintain and produce regular weekly data and graphs highlighting data quality performance and identifying areas of concern to relevant mangers within the Departments and Divisions.
To identify, investigate and aid resolution of process inadequacies causing data quality issues, through close working with divisional staff and senior managers. To provide advice and guidance on training to Trust staff and ensure training department focus on importance of recording data in an accurate and timely manner. To create a data quality communications strategy that includes the production of a data quality newsletter. To be responsible for assessing information sharing notices relating to Data Quality and supporting divisions in the understanding of the implications and implementation of change management.
To arrange meetings with relevant managers and staff to discuss data quality issues; to influence changes in bad practice and negotiate key milestones for improvement. To be responsible for the Trusts Data Quality Policy and continuously drive forward a fluid and developing data quality strategy in line with the changing needs of the organisation. To analyse complex patient data, identifying discrepancies and propose long term improvements to current working practices to ensure robust data quality. To make use of the Trusts current information systems to maximise improvements in data quality across all areas in the Trust.
To lead the work plan to ensure a regular audit programme of key data items is undertaken across all Divisions in line with information governance requirements and provide robust documentation of all audit processes and results are fed back to Divisional Managers. To be responsible for providing the evidence for the Clinical Information and Secondary Use Assurance standards contained within the Information Security and Protection Toolkit. To monitor departmental compliance with Data Quality Policy and procedures and report on deficiencies to the Data Quality Steering Group. To be the primary contact with the Information department for Data Quality Issues, offering help and guidance on all related issues to the rest of the Trust.
To support the Clinical lead for data quality and set the agenda for the Data Quality Steering Group meetings. To coordinate and develop Data Quality KPIs. To proactively network with Data Quality leads across the region sharing good practice. To be responsible for the day to day management of the data quality staff.
**General Duties**: Liaise with a diverse range of staff including managers and clinicians to discuss resolutions to ongoing Data Quality issues. The job entails the provision and explanation of complex data quality information. The post holder must therefore have excellent communication and written presentational skills and reasonable verbal presentational skills. They must be confident when communicating with people at all levels of the organization and also externally.
Present information appropriately for each project by using a variety of media. Interpret information from data quality reports including figures, graphs, percentages and variances and present to required audience including large groups.
