Marks Sattin are pleased to be supporting our client, a reputable and well established Consumable Goods business based in Birmingham to recruit a Financial Controller on a full-time, permanent basis.
My client have a longstanding history within their industry and are entering a new phase of growth. Being a well-funded business with a long-term growth strategy they are seeking a Financial Controller with a proven track record of leading a finance team,whilst provid first class support to the Senior Leadership Team to deliver the strategic plan.
The Financial Controller will be experienced within an FMCG or Manufacturing environment with good knowledge of costing and stock. Given the nature of the role, the Financial Controller will be an excellent business partner with the ability to liaise andinfluence a variety of stakeholders, namely senior leaders within the Operations teams.
**Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller include**:
- Managing the finance function effectively and delegating appropriately
- Ensuring financial controls are robust and adhered to at all times
- Leading key operations within finance from: financial & management reporting, cash management, stock control, fixed asset management and payroll
- Full ownership of the financial planning process, from budgeting, forecasting, cashflow forecasting and variance analysis
- Ensuring the integrity of financial information to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Driving a 'Continuous Improvement' culture across the team
- Ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of monthly management accounts
- Providing key support to the Cost Accountant and wider Operations team to ensure products have accurate Bill of Materials and Standard Costings
- Taking ownership of stock management and reporting
- Providing first class business partnering to the Operations teams across the factory/shop floor and interpretting financial information in a manner that is clear and concise
- Provision of commercial analysis and insight to aid key decision making
- KPI Reporting
- Establishing yourself as the commercial lead to the Commercial Director and Managing Director, ensuring key opportunities and risks are highlighted
- Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory issues.
- Being the main point of contact to external auditors and other key advisors
**To be considered you must be**:
- A Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Proven in a Financial Controlling position with proven team leadership
- Experienced in a FMCG or Manufacturing environment
- Able to demonstrate good knowledge of costings and stock management
- A highly commercial and dynamic individual with the ability to communicate with a wide audience
- A strong ERP System User (ideally with system implementation experience) and strong Excel User
- Able to take a hands on approach at times and get in to the detail
