We have an exciting opportunity to join our Waitrose Packaging Innovation & Delivery team and are looking for a Packaging Technologist.

A key part of this role will be working within the packaging team to identify, develop and implement own label packaging and material opportunities that add value and deliver effective and innovative solutions. Meeting the packaging targets and delivering our environmental commitments to support the Ethics and Sustainability strategy. Ensuring conformance with Partnership and regulatory policies and procedures at all times to deliver safe and sustainable solutions.

You will have the opportunity to work on our fabulous brands such as Dutchy and Waitrose Number One range, working closely with our Product Developers and Innovation Chefs as well as Buying Categories.

We have an outstanding supply base outside of the Partnership and Producers to work with across all types of food. Our team have won UK packaging awards and lead first in market initiatives including the move from black plastic and lead the market in moving clear caps to milk.

**Essential skills you’ll need**
- Compliance (GSCOP, Competitive Law etc.)
- Strong Technical/Commercial experience and proven ability in delivering strong results
- Packaging expertise (Retail, Manufacturing or FMCG)
- Ability to demonstrate a genuine interest and enthusiasm in product/packaging trends and innovation

**Desirable skills**
- Graduate degree
- Systems (e.g. BOBI, PIC, PWC).
- Communicating at all levels of the business with strong presentation and influencing skills
- Experience of working collaboratively
