We have an exciting opportunity to join the Engineering team in a permanent role as a Multiskilled Engineer based at our Coatbridge site as part of ‘Finsbury Food Group’. Lees of Scotland is best known for Snowball, Teacakes or Meringues, as we have been manufacturing confectionary and meringues since 1931 to major retailers across the UK.

We employee 250 people at our modern 80,000 square ft factory which is located just outside of Glasgow and is easily accessible by public transport. To be a success in this role, you will be a fully qualified multi skilled engineer and preferably with experience in the food manufacturing industry. You will thrive working in a fast-paced environment and be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate clear communication skills.

**This is what you’ll actually do**

In this busy and varied role you will be a vital part of the Engineering team and will be responsible for assisting in the daily maintenance of production equipment. You will be required to deal with any unscheduled and emergency maintenance work, including all fault finding and necessary repair ensuring quick and efficient management of breakdowns that occur. You will strive to identify the root cause on each occasion and will be responsible for the booking of the duration, root cause and materials used through the Company CMMS.

You will also be required to deliver the maintenance programme in line with the planned preventative maintenance vision with all works performed following a, ‘clean as you go,’ ethic in accordance with good manufacturing practice. You will also ensure that maintenance work is carried out with due diligence and in compliance with food safety, health and safety and legal and quality systems.

There will be the opportunity within the role to participate in project work including continuous and profit improvement and you will be able to share your ideas about improvements that can be made to production lines, individual machinery or other operations.

In the role you will work closely with the site operations team and therefore you will need good communication to build positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Fully qualified multi skilled engineer with relevant qualifications
Previous working experience gained in an FMCG environment
Experience of working in a lean/continuous improvement environment
Flexible with a hand on approach
