**Job overview**:
This role supports and underpins the day to day work of the metabolic dietetic team. You would be working with the dietitians to ensure the Adult Inherited Metabolic Disease (AIMD) patients were given the advise and support they need to meet their specialised dietary needs

You would also be responsible for liaing with metabolic specialist dietetic product companies, to ensure patients have the products they need to manage their AIMD. This includes managing stock of these products held within the department.

You would also help screen and address dietetic queries to the metabolic department and support the dietetic and nutritional assessment of the patients

**Main duties of the job**:
To support the work of the dietetic department, by working as an integral member of the team to ensure the therapeutic dietary needs of patients under the care of the dietetic team are met.
To be responsible for liaison with metabolic specialist dietetic product companies, following patient queries and advice regarding these products and managing stock of these products held within the department.
To contribute to triage of dietetic queries to the metabolic department and working with or supporting the dietitians with the management of queries as required.
Working with the dietitians to report blood and other investigation results, where appropriate, to patients.
To be competent to provide basic nutritional assessment to patients referred to the metabolic dietitians.
To support the metabolic dietitians with the management of dietetic outpatient clinics, data collection, service evaluation and audit
