We’re looking for a full-time, permanent Transport Supervisor to be based in Widnes to have responsibility of the day to day running of the site transport operation. You will coordinate the transport operations of the depot in order to achieve business objectives and the needs of the customer. Working pattern is 4 on 4 off 0600 - 1800hrs.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £27,490 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. **Here's what you'll get up to**:

- Liaise with all maintenance contractors to ensure fleet is fully compliant and roadworthy, raising FTR’s where applicable
- Manage drivers holidays ensuring a swift response to all leave requests, this includes managing driver sick and abcence investigations and LTS.
- Conduct on site inductions with visitors and new starters.
- Manage the onboarding process of new recruits and leavers process.
- Manage and investigate accident investigations pack end to end. Escalating where necessary
- Ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism
- Ensure all company procedures and processes are being followed by the operations team
- Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / sub contractors minimising the cost impact to the business
- Ensure that details of vehicle accidents are investigated & escalated to line management
- Ensure that the defect process is followed at all times, escalating any issues to the Transport Operations Manager
- Ensure that the procedure for damaged, out of temp deliveries & loss is followed where necessary, ensuring investigations are completed and escalated.
- Use all IT based systems in the effective delivery of their role including Tachograph, Trailer Master, Checkmaster and Microlise etc.
- Ensure that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to both internal and external customers as required e.g., debrief of drivers, dealing with customer issues etc.
- Intervene in customer complaints, compliance nonconformance and out of temps, find solutions, escalating to the Transport Operations Manager as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety requirements highlighting any concerns to line management and any incidents escalated to line management.
- Lead and support the operational team in the development of other colleagues
- Identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities
- Undertake any relevant training events in line with own personal development needs and business requirements

**What you need to succeed at XPO**:

- Some previous management / supervisory experience
- Have an International CPC (preferable - work towards) however not essential
- Excellent IT skills (MS Office)
- Previous experience of TMS / Tachograph management systems
- Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
- Comprehensive geographical knowledge of UK
- Knowledge of Driver Regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements
