Loughborough Schools Foundation are seeking to recruit a part time Fitness Suite Sports Assistant to work in the Parkin Fitness Centre. Applicants should, as a minimum, hold a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification. REPs/CIMSPA.

**General Role**
- To provide an excellent standard of customer care.
- To create a welcoming and supportive environment through the delivery of inspirational fitness related activity.
- To encourage and motivate students and staff when using the Foundation Fitness Facilities.
- Recognised minimum Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification. REPs/ CIMSPA recognised.
- Help create a vibrant and motivational environment which encourages and inspires a greater level of activity for staff/ students.
- Supervise all users in the gym to ensure correct use of fitness training equipment.
- Develop a sound knowledge of the fitness suite equipment and current trends within the industry.
- Support and assist sports PE sessions in the delivery of activities and programmes.
- Undertake all day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of the equipment in a manner consistent with safe working practice, bringing to the attention of the Manager any major faults or repairs.
- To carry out routine monitoring and basic maintenance of equipment and fittings as required.
- Admin duties as required; this may include making bookings on the computerised booking system.
- Take responsibility to ensure the facilities are presented to the highest level of cleanliness and comfort.
- As a trained first aider, to deal with accidents or injuries as they occur and ensure that the necessary steps are taken to prevent reoccurrences and that the relevant documentation is completed.

**Preferable but not essential**
- Experience of working as a Fitness Instructor delivering programmes, inductions and keeping appropriate records.
- Experience of delivering strength training weights-based fitness programmes in particular using free weights.
- Experience of delivering group exercise classes/ activities.
