I am looking for a Behaviour Support Worker/SEND Teaching Assistant to work in an "Outstanding" school in the North Kirklees area.

The school is a lovely, cheerful and warm school where every child is cherished; it has a family atmosphere and community spirit.

The role is to commence as soon as possible to the end of the school year.

**General duties**:
Encourage pupils with Social, Emotional and Behavioural needs to a participate in all teacher led activities

Deliver short-term interventions to encourage and engage the disaffected learners

Support pupils in improving their behaviours, working with the class teacher on reintegration to class where necessary, specifically working with pupils to achieve their behavioural and learning targets

**Qualities of a BSW/SEND TA**

Resilience and a thick skin - Children requiring your support will display challenging behaviours therefore insults should not be taken personally and every day is a new day

Ability to support children to manage their own behaviours - teaching methods and using various techniques taught to the pupils

Build positive relationships - Building a supportive relationship is the key to success for both student and BSW.

Give clear boundaries with confidence -adaptability to the pupils needs within rules and guidance

Praise and encourage - give opportunities for pupils to achieve their best every day

Communicate effectively with all parties - pupil, parents, colleagues and external agencies

Offer emotional support - listen and support, each child is individual

Diffuse situations with assertiveness and a calm manner - use de-escalation techniques

If this role sounds like something you can do and you hold a L3 TA qualification please get in touch, ideally you will hold a Team Teach qualification but this is not essential.
