Purpose of the role:
This role is an exciting opportunity to work in the growing Knowledge Solutions programme within Fera, who focus on exploiting large and complex datasets to provide critical and seamless insights to customers whilst delivering maximum value to Fera.

The Knowledge Solutions team design and maintain data management systems, working closely with Fera’s IT Software development team to manage the databases that underpin such systems. 1000s of leading companies across the Agri-Food sectors, from growers through manufacturers to retailers, depend upon our systems and the integrity of the data we manage to deliver quality products and services to their customers.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Become a data and product expert - assist in maintaining and enhancing databases of Food, Crop, Pesticide and Food Hazard data
- Search for, review, assess and capture data from official sources, industry news outlets and social media
- Se a crucial point of contact for customers from trial through subscription and to support, dealing with a varied, global existing customer base and potential new customers around the world
- Support official sales partners based in the UK, US and Australia, providing product and data expertise
- Work with other business functions (e.g. Marketing, Finance) to help promote knowledge solutions’ products to appropriate markets and to ensure customer transactions are made according to Capita’s agreed processes

**What we're looking for**:

- Educated to degree level
- A background and/or interest in Science, Food, Agriculture
- Knowledge and/or experience of the Food and Agriculture industries
- Experience of talking to customers about the benefits and features of products
- Database maintenance via web based software
- Ability to assess and interpret information of a straightforward scientific nature
- Able to focus, work with pace and be accurate when adding and amending multiple datasets across different systems
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Readiness to undertake a range of activities
- Experience in using corporate tools e.g. Finance systems, CRM systems
- Ability to effectively communicate technical matters to colleagues and customers
