**HEAD/SENIOR GARDENER**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Head/Senior Gardener **wanted for a private family estate in North Wales. The well known gardens consist of a walled flower garden with herbaceous borders, shrubs and roses; a walled kitchen garden growing fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers for cutting; it features an orchard, rose walk and crab apple orchard; a fully restored Victorian glasshouse which houses grapevines and where the propagation of a wide variety of plants can be conducted; lawns, hedges and an important woodland garden. Over the years much work has gone into enhancing the woodland with significant plantings of Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Acers, Betula, Cornus, Eucryphias, Hydrangeas, and Magnolias within the Dingle and historic woodland walk. The gardens are open by appointment, for charity Open Days and often hosts private garden tours. The gardens have featured on television and in _Country Life_ and _The Great Gardens of Wales. _We have also hosted prestigious visits from the International Dendrology Society and The Garden Society.
