RSR are currently recruiting on behalf of our policing client based in Leek Wootton, Warwickshire for a Cyber Security Architect to design security architecture frameworks and referential architectural guidelines for achieving technical security objectives.

This is a full time, permanent position and offers a salary of £77,665.

**Main Duties**:

- Responsible for Cyber Security during the planning, design, development, and documentation of technical solutions, developing all related documentation.
- Ensure that the Cyber Security meets all the relevant industry/national/ legislative/compliance standards and demonstrates consistency of design across all related programmes and projects.
- Develop and maintain IT security architectures, protocols, operating procedures, and a register of active security controls.
- Be the professional lead on technical security on behalf of Digital Services, and represent the client’s IT externally on matters of ICT security.
- Participate in and constructively contribute to internal security and resiliency forums, ensuring that cyber security actions are aligned to organisational priority and need.
- Manage the Cyber Security Officer(s) to provide technical input for accreditation required as part of access to secure policing and/or government environments.
- Provide technical specifications and be the primary liaison for independent technical security health checks (penetration testing), taking responsibility for ensuring the timely implementation of agreed remedial actions.
- Undertake impact assessments of new legislation, threats, IT suppliers, and solutions, and to initiate new or changed IT security controls, protocols or procedures.
- Support the quality assurance of tender responses from suppliers as they relate to security matters.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Educated to degree level (Level 6 in an ICT related discipline) or significant equivalent work experience.
- Recognised professional information security qualification or certification such as CISM, CISSP, ISO27001, CPI Data Security Standard.
- Specialist knowledge of cyber threat assessment tools and techniques
- Knowledge and experience of implementing proactive threat management solutions across organisations.
- Deep knowledge of risk management and security legislation
- Understanding of architectural frameworks (e.g. TOGAF).
- Understanding of IT and related management methods (e.g. ITIL, PRINCE2, Agile).
- Significant experience being the organisational lead on technical security and providing associated expertise to projects, activities, colleagues, and senior management.
- Demonstrable experience coordinating penetration and other security testing, and ensuring completion of any agreed remedial action.
- Experience managing sensitive enquiries confidentially.
- Experience developing and maintaining security architectures and procedures.
