**Job Purpose**
To support The Hunterian’s Head of Strategy Development and Delivery to coordinate and deliver community-led consultations, engagement events and workshops that extend the reach and capacity of our ongoing Power in this Place programme in delivering fundamental change within the organisation and the individuals and communities with which it works.
To work across our collections and organisation and with communities and individuals across Glasgow to support the embedding of anti-racist, participatory approaches in The Hunterian and the wider University within which we work.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. To engage with organisations and individuals and to organise and deliver community-led events including workshops and other activities that support the ongoing change processes underway within The Hunterian.
2. To collaborate with Hunterian colleagues to facilitate community-led development and review of existing interpretation materials and co-production processes. The specific outputs generated will be determined as part of these activities.
3. To collaborate with partner groups and individuals, and Hunterian colleagues to ensure that all activities identify opportunities to support long-term and sustainable upskilling of participants.
4. To work with the Head of Strategy Development and Delivery to plan and manage outputs across the period of the project.
5. To respond flexibly to new challenges and opportunities within an experimental project framework while delivering the objectives and goals of The Hunterian’s current Strategic Plan (2021-2025).
6. To provide timely delivery of agreed feedback, data and other reporting information to ensure that project evaluation and monitoring can be given to funders and other relevant parties.
7. Assist in the preparation of financial and other planning and budgeting relating to the project.
8. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by Hunterian management.
9. Undertake personal professional development activities as appropriate

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**:

A1 Either: Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role. Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 7 (Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A2 Demonstrable knowledge of current best practice in addressing intersectional racial, social and cultural equalities, diversity and inclusion issues within a collections-based museum or heritage environment.

**Skills**

**Essential**:

C1 Excellent time management, organisational and project management skills, including planning and budgetary control with the ability to prioritise competing demands and multiple strands of activity.
C2 Highly developed communication skills, both written and interpersonal, with proven experience of building relationships with a wide variety of relevant stakeholders.
C3 Ability to work independently and also as part of a team, engaging effectively with multiple stakeholders/multi-disciplinary teams.
C4 Proficient in utilising relevant IT systems and social media.
C5 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and significant evidence of implementing innovative solutions.
C6 Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing environments through solution focussed analytical problem-solving capability.
C7 Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, discretion and assertiveness and to handle difficult or sensitive situations or people appropriately and persuasively.

**Experience**

**Essential**:

E1 Demonstrable experience of working across a range of local and international culture or heritage environments with diverse and under-represented communities to engage with external partners, groups and individuals, fostering openness and trust in the processes underlying individual projects and their delivery and outcomes.
E2 Demonstrable experience of working in fields such as Human Rights, Anti-Racism and Equalities, particularly with cultural sector organisations.
E4 Experience of work practices policies and procedures, relevant to this project and this role, including broader museum sector awareness.
E5 Experience of working with budgets, timelines and procurement.

**Desirable**:

F1 Demonstrable relevant experience of undertaking several parallel strands of activity and planning and progressing work activities within professional guidelines.

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 5, £25,138 - £29,605 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours p/w) and fixed term to 31 July 2025.
