We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals for the position of Support Worker. This role involves providing support to a vulnerable young adult who has experienced behavioural and personality changes as a result of a traumatic brain injury. The support will be provided in her own home as well as out in the wider community, with the aim of assisting her in her daily activities, fostering her independence, and ensuring her well-being.
**Responsibilities**:
Assist the individual with daily activities, both in her home and while engaging in community-based tasks.
Support her in working towards her independence in a safe and supportive manner.
Foster a positive and empowering environment.
Schedule and coordinate appointments, ensuring timely attendance.
Chaperone and accompany the individual to appointments, providing support and assistance as needed.
Maintain clear and effective communication with the individual, family members, and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Utilise the company car, available at all times, to assist in supporting the individual to access the community and engage in activities.
Drive the company car competently and confidently, ensuring safe transportation for the individual.
**Requirements**:
Passion for supporting individuals with traumatic brain injuries.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Maturity and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
Calm and composed demeanour, even in challenging situations.
Patience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable collaborating with a team of support workers and professionals.
Willingness to undergo training and learn new skills.
Essential: Ability and willingness to walk substantially long distances on a daily basis.
Essential: Competent and confident driver with a valid driver's license.
