Humber Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP) Failsafe Officer

1 Full time (37.5 hours per week) post to work between Hull, East Riding, North and North East Lincolnshire, based in Hull.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated person to join the Humber Diabetic Eye Screening Programme as a Failsafe Officer.

The successful applicant will be instrumental in maintaining a Humber Diabetic Eye Screening failsafe procedure and will have responsibility for all process monitoring, data validation, and clinical audit.

The failsafe officer will be responsible for reporting functions for patients within the Screening Service for patients that are retained in HDESP for monitoring. This is to ensure they are returned appropriately into the screening pathway following validation of returned documentation from the patient or GP.

In addition, the failsafe officer has a responsibility to ensure that patients or GP practices who have failed to return the correct paperwork are returned to the screening service via the Failsafe Trigger process.

The post holder will also assist in improving the quality and system for the collection of data used within the department to indicate performance against local commissioning targets and KPI’s. To participate in information retrieval to support research and the audit programmes.
