My client are a exciting and established Engineering organisation with a rich history in the Aerospace & Defence industry. They are now looking for a Operations Planner to join them on a full time permanent basis.
The Production Control department is undergoing exciting changes, with several retirements creating the opportunity to cultivate a proactive rather than reactive ‘fire-fighting’ mindset and introduce holistic end-to-end supply-chain thinking. The Operations Planner role represents an opportunity for career development for those seeking to make their mark at Martin-Baker, with a view to grow into leadership positions. There will be opportunity to shape business processes, with training and professional certifications actively encouraged and supported to increase knowledge and bring diverse and novel ideas into the department.
**Areas of Responsibility**:
- Work in close co-operation with the Operations functions in order to continuously improve key strategic focus areas:
On-time delivery
Production throughput
Prioritisation
Issue resolution
Planning methodology
Key performance indicators
- Plan, manage and take ownership of manufacturing and procurement activities in a dynamic environment to deliver parts on time, optimise flow and minimise arrears, including liaising directly with both Sourcing and Commercial.
- Maintain and oversee the operation of SAP and other business systems in support of the manufacturing process such that Master Data is accurate and up to date and provides for the efficient operation of these systems.
- To be fully flexible between Denham manufacturing processes in order to provide cover during periods of staff absence.

**Knowledge & Experience**:
- Process documentation & flowcharting
- Project management & coordination
- Data analysis, manipulation & presentation
- Process improvement
- 2 years’ experience in a technical environment
- Thorough manufacturing / production control experience in a similar environment and role (Aerospace, Defence or automotive) would be desirable.
**Education & Qualifications**:
- Engineering Degree, Advanced Vocational Qualification i.e. BTEC Diploma / engineering or equivalent. Other technical degrees also considered.
**Specific / Technical Skill**
- Good process documentation & flowcharting skills
- Project management skills
- Solid data analysis skills
- Strong IT proficiency, e.g. Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with SAP, Microsoft PowerBi experience & Basic grounding in H&S policies and procedures would be desirable.
