**Warehouse Operative and Forklift Driver**

TFM Country Store is a well-established, independent, family-run country store and hire company based in Whisby, Lincoln. We currently have a full-time, permanent role available for a Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative.

This is an integral role within the business to ensure the stock kept in the warehouse and yard is topped up within our busy store. This role is ideal for someone who wants to be kept busy, with a varied workload where no two days will be the same.

The stock we carry is very diverse, covering primarily animal feed and bedding, but also including timber and compost. This mainly include handling 15-25kg bags, forklifting pallets of stock and keeping the yard tidy.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operating the forklift in line with health and safety standards.
- Unload lorries and sign for deliveries upon arrival into the yard, ready for storage or unpacking.
- Proactively ensuring shelves of feed are topped up with correct stock throughout the day with the products kept in the containers and the back shed.
- Ensuring stock is displayed in the correct place and in a customer friendly manner (i.e., bags displayed in the correct place the correct way round and not left in aisles).
- Ensuring stock kept on pallets, such as chicken feed, is proactively restocked and rotated on a regular basis.
- Managing storage of palletised stock in the feed shed.
- Assisting customers who require large quantities of stock loading into their car/trailer, either by hand or by using the forklift.
- Stock checking as requested by Purchasing, or Supervisors.
- Reporting damaged stock to Goods In.
- Ensuring all delivery notes are passed through to Goods In.
- Ensuring timber and shavings that are stored outside in line with health and safety practices.
- Keeping floors and fire exits clear of packaging and pallets for health and safety reasons.
- General yard maintenance and tidiness.

Very occasionally, you may be asked to do the following (training will be provided):

- Interacting with hire customers, including hitching up and unhitching trailers.
- Filling up diesel tanks in hire kit.

**General Duties**
- Work towards maintaining TFM’s strong reputation for customer service and ethics.
- Helping work with the team to foster a welcoming environment for customers.
- Keeping floors and fire exits clear for health and safety reasons.
- Litter pick regularly, working to keep the yard clear of rubbish and tidy, in line with health and safety recommendations.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
