**Main Purpose of Role**

To plan, deliver and monitor a coordinated programme of high quality, professional coaching that is progressive and reflective of the needs of children, and supports the aim of increasing participation in PE and school sport by all children within the school that you are working.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- To deliver coaching in a range of physical activities to support the the Schools PE curriculum
- To create a focus on after school clubs and lunchtime provision.
- To be positive role model, creating an engaging and fun environment for pupils to participate in sport and physical activity.
- To take positive steps to identify and overcome barriers to participation amongst children, prioritising access and inclusion & well-being.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
- Encourage pupils to interact with others to promote high levels of physical activities
- Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate.
- To be fully aware of and understand the duties and responsibilities arising from the Children’s Act 2004 and Working Together in relation to child protection and safeguarding children and young people as this applies to the worker’s role within the organisation.
- To attend relevant staff meetings and parents’ evenings as required
- To participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.

**Experience Required**
- Sports Coaching experience within a primary school setting
- A proven track record of inspiring students to live healthy lifestyles
- Well-being experience
- Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Knowledge of both the school games and independent schools (ISA) sports frameworks
- Driving License (essential)
- Level 3 qualified coach

Hours Monday - Friday 9:00 till 5:00

Due to the nature of this role some flexibility will be required in the hours of work due to afterschool competitions and activities.

Term time contract only, approximately 35 weeks per year.

The Shrubbery School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
