AWE is currently recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to join our growing team.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

**Salary**: £30,000 - £45,000 based on experience.

Sitting in the Supply Chain Management (“SCM”) function, you will be supporting the team by embedding appropriate policies, processes and procedures, verifying data integrity and reporting standards, and assisting in associated procurement activity with external stakeholder outside of AWE.

This is a varied and exciting role, to help the SCM function deliver a vast programme at an exciting time of change for the public sector.

What will you be responsible for?
- Embedding and reinforcing new and current ways of working, ensuring best practice is understood and adhered to across the function
- Supporting in review and development of new policies and procedures, to ensure AWE can best leverage the changing public sector landscape, particularly regarding the public procurement regulations
- Training and supporting the function in new initiatives, regulatory changes, and other enabling activity as required
- Assisting SCM in demonstrating control of risk and ensuring compliance with contractual and governance procedures to external stakeholders through data verification and assurance
- Helping to develop a framework within AWE to best identify external and internal opportunities, whilst driving continued awareness and understanding of value for money

To be successful in this role you will provide technical expertise in one or more of the following specialisms:

- Previous experience in a procurement or commercial team
- knowledge of working to process & governance, ideally in an environment regulated by public procurement regulations
- An understanding of data integrity, and being able to question and challenge where necessary to ensure accurate reporting
- Experience of launching and supporting new policies and ways of working would be beneficial, but not essential
- Developing and maintaining positive and productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and promoting awareness of the Supply Chain Management function.
