Data Steward

Howdens are looking for a commercially minded Manufacturing Data Steward to work alongside the Data Manager (Europe and Manufacturing) to maintain data in the SAP Manufacturing (SAPM) system. The Data Steward will be responsible for creating and maintaining master data on both our SAP systems, Manufacturing and Central, and will need the experience and ability to succeed in a changing and fast-moving manufacturing environment. This Data Steward role is full-time and permanent with a blend of home and office work based in our Howden office in Yorkshire. This is a great opportunity for you to play a key role in our busy Data team, through world-class service execution as part of the UK’s number-one Trade Kitchen Supplier.

**What will I be doing as a Data Steward?**
- Maintain master data on SAP Central and Manufacturing
- Validate requests for data change and educate new starters in other business areas regarding their data requirements.
- Support new developments and major projects by creating data in various SAP clients and other systems.
- Monitor SAP data settings, rectify incorrect data, and determine underlying root causes of issues to avoid supply chain issues.
- Ensure cross-system integrity and resolve Idoc failures caused by failed cross-system data transfers.

**What do I need to qualify for this Data Steward role?**
- An understanding of basic supply chain operations and manufacturing processes
- A - Levels in Maths, English, or Computer Science
- Numerate and confident with simple mathematics
- Proficient in Excel, able to conduct lookups, sums, etc.
- Ability to understand Technical Drawings and Specifications
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Enquiring thought process and analytical nature
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working in a data management environment with SAP would be desirable.
