Yorkshire Children Centres' Children and Family Services is a group of connected services which offers a range of programmes to support the wellbeing of children and their families. The programs are designed to tackle a range of social issues faced by the community we service, which include, loneliness and isolation, parenting and family breakdown, domestic abuse, unemployment, health, and wellbeing.

We are looking for an enthusiastic new team member who is able to communicate effectively and respond to the needs of a variety of people, including those from local communities as well as partners and professional associates.

**Hours of Work**:Sessional
**Salary**:£11.50 per hour plus holiday allowance
**Contract**: Fixed term until 31st March 2024, with possibility to extend dependent on funding

Yorkshire Children’s Centre (YCC) is a registered charity, based in Kirklees, delivering services across South and West Yorkshire. Our vision is a future where Children, Young People, Vulnerable Adults, Families and Older People achieve their full potential in life. Our work is delivered through 4 themes of activity - Education & Training, Early Intervention & Prevention, Specialist Family Services and Social Enterprise activities.
- **Why the role exists and overall responsibility**:_
- To raise awareness and improve accessibility of community provisions to targeted audiences to reduce health inequalities, improve outcomes and ensure communities receive the right support at the right time.
- To engage with local communities, community groups and professionals to gather first hand information to better understand community need. To share findings in a range of formats to support the development of future servies for the benefit of the community.
- **Job Description - Main Activities**_
- Working within communities, targeting members of the community, established and merging community groups, third sector organisations, and health and social care professionals, to share and gather relevant information.
- Raising awareness and encouraging the uptake of health and wellbeing services by those most in need
- To undertake appropriate training to be able to share and gather relevant information with target groups through appropriate communication channels such as community conversations, leaflet drops, posters, social media, delivery of workshops and events.
- Raising awareness of community need, including, health inequalities, wellbeing needs, and social issues within Kirklees to improve the health and wellbeing of the community.
- Identify any people within the community who are willing to share their story and experiences to support others.
- Feeding back any issues, barriers or misinformation to the appropriate service manager or co-ordinator.
- Reporting any community safety or safeguarding concerns through the appropriate safeguarding channels to keep people safe from harm.
- Collecting and recording relevant data about engagement activity to feed into monitoring reports and recommendation papers.
